Course: L – shape course in Historic Downtown Winter’s, Sunny and 90 degree at race start

IC3 Team: Mike Creamer, Ben Holland, Mark Klein

Other Teams: San Jose Bike Club, Taleo

Finish: Mike Creamer 1st Place, Mark Klein 2nd Place

Report:

We had a small field of racers since this was one of last races of the 2011 Season.  Plan was to control the race as much as possible while protecting one of our riders.  Ben started from the gun flying off the front of the group and everyone let him go.  Once caught the group settle down and then Ben goes again stirring up the field.  Mike and I were sitting in and following anyone trying to close the break.  With 9 laps to go Ben was caught again and then Mike counter attack and was quickly off the front.

The field would try to get guys to chase Mike down but every time Ben or I would jump on the wheel of the chase group.  We controlled the front of the group and before we knew it there was one lap to go and Mike was off the front with a half lap lead on the group.  Coming around the final corner I jumped the inside line and sprinted off the front for second place finish.  A successful team win in front of one of sponsors, Mariani Nut.  Thank you, to God for keeping the race safe and glorifying to him.
