A List of Scheduled Rides
Pleasanton Noon Ride
Meets weekdays at 12:00 Noon at the corner of Foothill and Bernal in Pleasanton. Rides usually return to meeting spot by between 1:15 to 1:30, mileage varies from 20 – 30 miles. The typical schedule is:
Monday – Recovery road pace, approximately 25 miles. There is also a Mt. Bike option up to Pleasanton Ridge.
Tuesday – A more competitive ride, the course is out Calaveras to the first peak and back. The 3 sprint points include the top of the climb, the “Stop Ahead” sign when returning on Calaveras, and the “Stop Ahead” sign Northbound on Foothill approaching Castlewood.
Wednesday – During the summer months several of us meet at Foothill and Bernal at 6am and ride the Morga Loop. This ride is an “A” group ride. Our average speed is upwards of 20mph. We cover 60 miles of hills and rolling terrain in about 2:45 minutes. A great endurance and tempo level ride. At noon there are Road and Mt. Bike options available. They meet at the corner of Foothill and Bernal.
Thursday – Longer steady ride (not competitive), typically Palomares/Dublin Grade loop. Shorter option usually available.
Friday – Race warm up, or recovery pace. Sometimes Mt. Bike option. Noon meet at the corner of Foothill and Bernal.
IC3 Club Ride
This is the IC3 club ride that meets on the first Saturday of every month. This ride averages about 18 mph with the exception of two “Hot Spots” The first starts immediately after turning left on Greenville and the second starts immediately after turning right onto Highland.
Meet downtown Pleasanton at 9:00 on Neal Street across from the dairy. The route will head east toward Livermore. The ride is about 40 miles where you will end up on Tassajara given the option to continue on into Danville and up Mount Diablo or back to Pleasanton.
Saturday Ride
Pre-Ride 7:00 a.m. | Meets at the corner of Foothill and Bernal at 7:00 a.m. This ride will usually ride out south on Foothill to Sunol. Then proceed west on Niles Canyon to Palomares and back Dublin Canyon where we will join the 9:00 am club ride.
Club Ride 9:00 a.m. | Meets downtown Pleasanton on Neal Street across from the Dairy. This ride meets rain or shine. The route changes with the exception of the First-Saturday Club Ride above. Plan to do about 60+ miles with a turn-back point midway through the ride. This is a drop ride so know the route should you get left behind.
House of Pain Ride – Road
Description: Fast ride with a large group of riders consisting of mix Pro, Cat 3,4,5 and Triathlons riders
Difficulty: Advanced
Location: Start in Walnut Creek routes around the Tri-Valley area of San Ramon, Danville, and Black hawk, Livermore and back to Walnut Creek for a 60-mile loop
Sunday Ride
Pre-Church Ride 7:00 a.m. | Meet at the corner of Paseo Santa Cruz and Valley Avenue in Pleasanton. This ride lasts about 1.5 hours. It is a casual atmosphere with a laid back rest recovery pace. Several ride options exist.
